Mythic Software: How the Psyche Programs the World
Archetypes, Projection, and the Human Simulation
When it comes to both the last article, and what I have been writing about for the past years, also when it comes to the general cultural and civilisational trends occurring, there is a general underlying principle at play. Especially lately there are normies who think some techno-feudalist future is coming, run by AI and elite who want to have human farms and kill off humans, or do some nuclear war.
Reality as a Participatory Field
Yet the truth is, that not only these normies, but even that so called “elite” is all playing the same unconscious myth. They just project it onto the world in various ways. Now the exact shape, form and flavour it takes, is pretty irrelevant. You can pick here communism, your techno-feudalist future, fascism, or the western imperialism that pretends itself to be a democracy, or even the Chinese system, none of that really matters, as in principle they all run on the same mythic software. Mainly as they all run on the same ego and super-ego setup, that structures any cosmos humans create.
Each individual participates in the upkeep of a cosmos, as consciousness and soul weave symbolic reality through resonance. This reality is neither fixed nor purely external, but a living, shifting matrix of myth, psyche, and being. So it is not a fixed, external reality but a participatory symbolic field generated from soul and myth. In this sense, reality is mythically and psychologically mediated.
Nested cosmoi are not isolated; they engage in continuous dialogue and tension with each other, forming dynamic feedback loops that shape identity and collective reality. Regional cosmoi influence personal cosmoi through cultural myths and also social structures, while individual cosmoi contribute to the ongoing evolution of the regional and larger cosmos. This creates a layered, participatory field where the archetypal essences manifest variably depending on local and personal context. All existing within a contained larger civilizational cosmic system. Yet all of these cosmoi, are all created by the same original dynamic.
The Primordial Wound
This primordial wounding, that has been mythologised within various religions, and seeps in any human ideology that wrestles with the ideas of order and chaos, is in essence not about some fantastical giant, or ancient primordial being at all. It is the mythologisation and symbolic form of the original fracturing of the psyche, in its most early stage (8 months to 3 years old). We undergo what Winnicott called the rupture of omnipotence. The infant once fused with the mother begins to feel abandonment, separation, hunger, neglect. In this psychic wound, the original wholeness, Phanes, is shattered. The gods in their dualistic form are born as trauma’s echo.
Yet this wounding can’t be verbalised, so it instead becomes enshrined as cosmos, pre-verbal mythic figures, we externalise, and have become stories we live within. The psyche does not begin with language. It begins in sensation, touch, hunger, warmth, absence. Long before we speak, we feel. It is this initial rupture, that tears us from the felt garden of Eden, is the dismemberment of Dionysus, and the formation of the ego and super ego.
The Ego–Super-Ego Engine of Civilization
This set up is the very core of any cosmos that is created. It does not matter if this is mythologised as Kronos, Zeus, Yahweh, the State, the Techno-Feudalist lords, it all depends on the trauma every child undergoes, through the repression of their authentic self, and their mammalian needs. No matter what conceptual framework one creates, it always depends on this structure of ego and super-ego, and the duality that it creates. Yet not only the average person goes through this, everyone born into civilisation does. The only difference is in how traumatised ones lineage is, and the form of trauma which determines the exact shape, form and severity of said ego and super-ego structure.
Generally, within society, much what is called “socialisation” all depends on this trauma structure, and the original wounding of the authentic child with its mammalian needs. Much of these needs are seen as “weakness,” “needy” or various negative things within many cultures, as they are obsessed with repression masked as virtue. In this way, the social hierarchy is not just various external factors that are at play, but the nature and severity of the intergenerational trauma in the lineage, including the amount of repression applied to the psyche of the person.
How this plays out all depends on the unconscious roles assigned to the person at birth, so if they are the scapegoat, the silent one, the golden child, or if the family home is less stuck in such roles. Generally those who are more whole, are the ones most scapegoated by the culture, and who thus carry the projections of others, for they refuse to repress who they are. The ones who repress themselves, and create thus the biggest shadow, are the ones with the most fragile ego, who are thus the most fragmented and traumatised (as they repress it deeply). They can not even see their own shadow at all, and are the ones who project it outwardly the most.
Repression as Social Currency
Yet the social hierarchy rewards repression of mammalian needs, that are ethologically healthy for any mammal to have. How more repressed you are, and project ones own repressed helplessness, trauma and fears, the more you are rewarded by the culture for it. Not for any actual virtues at all, but for the appearance of competence and accomplishment. In this way, poverty, inequality and class differences are not just a question of not having enough money, or just people being lazy, or whatever they are labelled as in a negative way, it is a trauma hierarchy. Your worldview, your politics, your gods, your fears, your identity, all of it is a trauma‑driven simulation.
Oppression, historical trauma’s from the past, and ongoing cultural erasure of the lived experience of marginalised people, are not just things from the past, they are patterns that play out even now generations later. In that way, fighting against inequality is not just about raising living standards, or giving people more money. It is not about that at all, as it is about the ability of people to thrive and let themselves unfold, which can only can come about through safety, acceptance and the safe environment to get out of patterns of generational trauma.
Yet the culture itself fears this process, as people’s persona is tied to this entire charade of ego games, about status, worth, money, and tied hierarchical class system. Civilisation does not have any incentive to help people truly heal and reclaim their mammalian needs to truly recover from the trauma they endured. This is why psychiatry tied to social norms, is nothing but the medical arm of the super-ego, and the same repression game, to keep the marginalised stuck in their position. Almost nobody in positions of power has actually “harrowed Hades.” They have survived childhood by doubling down on persona, not dissolving it.
This is also why when the repression lifts, and trauma begins to slowly be healed, there is a surge of creativity, freedom of expression and diversity of human identities that start to be expressed. How more healed humanity is, how more the full spectrum of humans can express themselves just as they are. Yet this lifting of the repression is seen by those who benefit from this civilisational trauma system as pure chaos, and thus they react to it in fear. So the entire super-ego machinery within people starts to freak out, and you have those closely identified with it, that lash out at the people trying to heal and be authentic (true to their roots and who they are as a person), who have to be gotten rid of. Then the shadow starts to be projected onto them, and they are more and more dehumanised. Then the same old cycle continues.

Sure there are also other environmental reasons, think resources, land, you name it tied to it as well. Yet, these wars of ideology, those are motivated by this ancient scapegoating dynamic, the need for those outside of it to suffer, to bear the shadow, so the aggression inflicted on them as a young child, can be unloaded onto those who ought to play the role of the helpless victim. All of these apocalyptic future scenario’s as well, are similarly a projection of the same primordial wounding and the helplessness of the infant projected out as external terror, next to the fear of the dissolution of the ego, and the entire ego and super-ego structure.
Shadow, Projection, and the Cycle of Violence
A lot of this doomsday fear are tied to the cultural complexes and the egos fear of losing control. Next to the fear of the collective shadow erupting, or sometimes the desire for the shadow to finally erupt, often coming up as violent fantasies, ideas of revolution and liberty. Yet many are oblivious that they are just playing out Ragnarök. They are fighting externally what is truly an internal process. In this way there is no need for an external war of destruction, or the mass death of life in the world, as the only true death that is required is that of the false self, that civilisation made one belief one truly is. The one that fears death and the end of all things.
Ragnarök as Inner Process
The truth is that, your fears of apocalypse and oppression are the infant’s helplessness projected onto the cosmos. The real “enemy” is your own unreconciled shadow. The only thing that needs to die is the false self you’re clinging to. The game itself, the idea of winners and losers, is a traumatically‑created simulation that we co‑project. In Jungian terms, the “elite” are not mythically awake, they’re mythically possessed. In this way, even highly “strategic” actors project their own helplessness, father wounds, and omnipotence fantasies onto; Markets, AI, National security threats, and also “The other” (migrants, rival states, dissidents). They act out the exact same archetypes as everyone else, just with bigger budgets. The same scapegoat-redeemer structure.
Yet the many can not see, as the path towards illumination is narrow, the way towards life leads through the death before death. Few truly walk the path, as to walk towards the path of renewal, it will seem like the path into the wilderness and death. For who thinks they will find what was long lost, the hidden elixir of life, in the bosom of Hades itself, in the dark pit most reviled by those who cling to their god of false light. Yet, even those who enter, may not return.
