The World Upside Down: The True State of Sanity and Madness
The Kronian System and the Marginalized Dionysian
In our current world, the healthy are marginalized, and the unhealthy are called sane and moral. Those who are truly in touch with the soul, the Dionysian, intuitive, and emotionally integrated, are treated as outsiders, while the fragmented, rigidly controlled, and spiritually numb dominate the social order. This reversal is not accidental; it is the result of a Kronian system designed to uphold control at the expense of human wholeness. Is I also had written in my article on the Kronian social order, the state of mind of the Kronian leads to the very things it claims to oppose.
The Kronian State of Mind
Kronos, the devouring titan, represents the rigid ego that seeks to split everything into binaries: good versus evil, order versus chaos, self versus other. This state of mind is rooted in fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of change, and ultimately, fear of losing control. To maintain its dominance, the Kronian ego enforces:
Fragmentation: The psyche is dismembered, with parts of the self repressed or denied to fit into rigid societal norms.
Duality: Complex realities are reduced to simplistic opposites, leaving no room for nuance or integration.
Devouring Control: Like Kronos consuming his children, the social order devours creativity, spontaneity, and authenticity to sustain itself.
The Kronian Ego and Civilization Trauma
The formation of the Kronian ego is a response to early psychological wounding. As psychoanalyst Melanie Klein describes, splitting is a defense mechanism that develops in early childhood, particularly as the child navigates the first stages of attachment. Between the ages of 3 and 5, children begin to experience a psychological dismemberment at the hands of the social order.
Instead of being encouraged to integrate all aspects of themselves, they are taught to divide their experiences into "good" and "bad."
Instead of being guided towards wholeness, they are forced to repress emotions, desires, and instincts that do not align with social expectations.
Instead of fostering inner balance, they are conditioned to seek external validation and compliance with authority.
This process fractures the natural self, creating an internal split where the true, feeling, instinctual self is buried, and an artificial, socially acceptable persona emerges. This artificial self is what mainstream society calls "sanity," but in truth, it is a deep, unresolved trauma. A civilization-wide pathology that is mistaken for health. Whilst the feeling, instinctual self is called pathological and a symptom to be eradicated. Something to be controlled, and chaos. Yet as I had written before, the ego mistakes wholeness for chaos. Whilst calling the Kronian, the Apollonian order and light. Whilst it is actually fragmentation, madness and a force of repression and harm. It does exactly what it claims the Dionysian or Nyxian is. It corrupts and distorts, and lives in a state of psychosis from emotional reality.
A baseline psychosis, called civilizational reality. As what is our current societal order, then the ego overwhelmed by the unconscious, projecting things onto others, the marginalised, nature and reality. A projection of their inner world, repressed trauma and shadow onto the world, in an unconscious manner. How could we ever call such a thing sane. Let alone healthy. Only those who can see their emotional reality and their inner world, and can separate it from the world, see their own pain and the shadows of the world, can be called sane and healthy. For those who deny reality as it truly is, with all its ugliness and beauty. What are they, other than in a state of dissociation. As the meaning of the words are as follows;
Psychosis refers to a collection of symptoms that affect the mind, where there has been some loss of contact with reality. Leading to the projection of the inner world onto the external, through delusions and delusional thinking.
Dissociation refers to separation of some aspects of mental functioning from conscious awareness, leading to a degree of mental dysfunction.
I would say that their denial of emotional reality, emotions, the true lived reality of the marginalised, who are in connection with their inner Self, and the true state of things (the shadow they deny), would qualify as such. They don’t see the humanity of those they marginalise, and only see projections and delusions about the person. Leading to delusional thinking that they “somehow brought it upon themselves”, and other scapegoating tactics to deny reality. But this is exactly what society does. It projects its fears, traumas, and unconscious wounds onto scapegoats and calls it reality.
Which connects directly to dissociation, as most do not work through their trauma nor actually allow themselves to feel their emotions, or even be vulnerable, let alone accepting the feeling and instinctual self. This is itself the “artificial self” that society calls “sane”. Which is just a socially conditioned persona that suppresses the real, instinctual self. Yet the super ego represses this inner victim-child they project onto the marginalised. As this is not just the source of suffering, but the Self-child. The seed of wholeness and health. If the civilizational trauma is worked through, and resolved. To feel through the pain and emotions.
Civilization itself is a form of collective psychosis, rooted in repressed emotions, trauma, social conditioning, and a fear-based egoic structure. Yet most are too dissociated from their own lived experience to even recognize it. Most people are not actually perceiving reality, but are instead living inside a constructed mental illusion. Even people in power are just as lost in projection and repression as anyone else. Which is why nothing ever truly improves, and we remain in the state of division and suffering. Civilization is structured to keep people from realizing this. To keep them distracted, dissociated, and emotionally numb. Hence consumerism, bread and games, belief systems focussed on self-punishment, creating a scapegoat to hate, etc.
The Dionysian as the Healer of the Soul
Those who are marginalized, who refuse to fully assimilate into the Kronian system. To sacrifice their soul and authenticity on the altar of Kronos, are often the ones who remain closest to the Dionysian state of being. Dionysus represents wholeness, instinct, emotion, and deep connection to the unconscious and the divine. The marginalized, though suffering from the wounds of civilization, are often the ones who have begun the process of healing. They are the ones who are Self-aware.
They embrace emotional reality rather than suppressing it.
They acknowledge the soul’s depth rather than reducing life to surface-level materialism.
They integrate their inner darkness and light rather than projecting it onto others.
They seek connection and authenticity rather than control and domination.
To be Dionysian is to be whole, while to be Kronian is to be fragmented. The marginalized are not outcasts because they are broken; they are outcasts because they are healing, and their healing threatens the Kronian system. It threatens a system build on exploitation, fragmentation, hatred and corruption. Yet this Kronian system tries to frame those who are whole, and healing, as “broken”. As acknowledging emotional reality, and the real harm that is done, and denied, is too uncomfortable. It is easier to talk in practical realities. Which is what scapegoaters only can do. They are not capable of symbolic thought, only literal. They can’t accept the reality of the psyche, the true nature of the soul, and its sacred workings.
Reclaiming the Self from the Kronian Grip
The way forward is not to battle Kronos directly, for to fight him on his terms is to play by his rules. Instead, the path of transformation lies in dismembering the Kronian structure itself. Just as Kronos once dismembered Dionysus-Zagreus. However, where Kronos sought destruction, we seek reassembly and renewal.
To reclaim our wholeness, we must:
Recognize the system for what it is – a trauma-based structure that mistakes control for morality.
Refuse to internalize its definitions of sanity and worth – you are not "wrong" for feeling, for questioning, for seeking depth.
Heal the split within ourselves – embrace and integrate the parts of the self that society forced into exile.
Support each other outside the system – build communities rooted in authenticity rather than fear-based control.
Live in accordance with nature and the soul – for the Kronian system is unnatural, and only through reconnection to the deeper rhythms of existence can we truly heal.
The Future Beyond Kronos
The Kronian system may seem all-powerful, but it is already crumbling under the weight of its own contradictions. Control cannot sustain itself indefinitely. Fragmentation cannot replace wholeness. The future belongs not to Kronos but to those who dare to reclaim their own divine, instinctual, and integrated being.
To dismantle Kronos is not to wage war upon him. It is to outgrow him, to render him obsolete, to create something beyond him.
And in doing so, we reassemble the shattered child—the Self—and return to wholeness once more.
