Western civilisation when it talks about the soul, speak of Logos, of intellect and really much the ego, that they mistake not only for the āIā but the soul of the person. In the sense of essence of the West in its modern form, perhaps one can speak of such. Yet logos is not the soul. The West long has buried its soul. They write of ideals, form, permanence, the eternal recurrence of patterns. Talking about a world that owes us nothing. And they wonder about where Truth lives, and about the Good. Yet they won't find the soul, the Truth or the Good within just intellect and rationality. To seek there only is to forsake ones very soul.

The soul of any person, of any nation, of any civilization, is not its structures or its order. None of these things who seem permanent, maybe even "eternal" in the world around are truly such. Trying to find the soul in such things, is like kindling a fire by throwing water on wood. Truth, Goodness and ones very soul is not found in the pursuit of logos as in intellect. It is found within Eros, within the mysteries of life and death. Within the moments of connection, emotion and beauty. To see the beauty in the impermanence of life, in the eternal patterns that govern the cosmos. Yet these things can never be obtained by mere intellectualizing. As to honour ones rationality above ones intuitive intellect, is to become akin to a traitor to oneself. That is not the path of Goodness, of Truth and Wholeness.
As what is Goodness and Truth, but Wholeness itself. It is Eros, the deep wisdom of the feminine and its mysteries that pull us forward towards the Whole. Eros is the creative pulse that births worlds from darkness. Nyx is Eros in her deepest mystery. Hekate is Eros as threshold and exile. Artemis is Eros as sacred protection. Persephone is Eros as descent and sovereignty. Eros represents the principle of connection, creativity, and life itself. To operate as Eros means to be moved by the drive for union, not only with others but also with the unconscious and the world itself. It is what drives one towards unity, wholeness, love and the Good.
The Flame of Eros
The fire of the soul is not kindled by words or intellect, but by kindling fire in the abyss of being. It is to like Wolf-Apollo and his warriors kindle the fire of the soul in the darkness of the wilderness and twilight. To carry this fire out from the underworld and its darkness itself. To illuminate the eternal patterns that govern the psyche and the cosmos. To see through the shadows on the cave wall that externalises what is internal. To give Eros form within the unconscious, to breath life into her, to honour the soul, as she leads one towards the path of wholeness. It is in the dissolution of all what one thinks one is, in the surrender to the wisdom of the soul, of Eros and the feminine within, the wisdom and patterns of the cosmos, that one finds Truth and Goodness. She is the mother of the soul's truth. The soul is not a fixed or static entity, but something in flux, constantly transforming and evolving through connection, love, suffering, and union. It is the living essence that transforms and transmutes.
She is the flame of the soul, of becoming, of truth that cannot be intellectualized. She is the water that holds the grieving child, the parched soul, the sacred feminine and womb of Nyx. She is the descent, the grounding and embodied wholeness. She is the breath of meaning, the pulse of Eros animating life itself.

Eros is found within the suffering of the child within, within that what has been fragmented and seems like death and chaos. As it is the fragmentation of the child within, which creates the recurrence of the patterns of suffering within the world. It is by grieving, feeling and honouring what was lost, that one can move towards what one always was and meant to be. That is what it means to become, to truly be. To become (w)holy. The soul's fire is not only kindled from the depths of the personal unconscious but from the collective unconscious, the cosmic forces that govern all existence. To light the fire of the soul and of being, is to kindle this within the depths of ones own abyss. It is to become a bearer of the nurturing waters of the soul, for those parched and lost in the desert.
The Mysteries of Nyx
In the end Truth, Goodness, Love and Wholeness are to be found in the mysteries of Nyx. The mother of the unknown and the abyss. She is the collective unconscious, the mother of the dream of humanity, which governs all patterns that unconsciously drive all of existence. Which ancient Phanes (Eros), illuminates by being born out of the chaos of existence, giving shape and form to the patterns of his mother Nyx. Which humans call the cosmic order, the order that rules their psyche.
Eros is the creative pulse behind the cosmic order itself, the will of Life itself. What Will is more sacred than this? To nurture, protect and uplift the sacredness of what is and can be. The soul is part of this larger cosmic intelligence that flows through the world, feminine and Eros. Truth and goodness are not personal ideals but emerge from the cosmic psyche itself. It emerges from the void of Nyx. And by aligning oneself with her one attains Truth and Goodness. She is governing not just the individual mind but the collective psyche of humanity. Her relationship to Phanes (Eros) is as the generative principle behind cosmic order. Not only the mother of creation but the governing force of the universal unconscious.
