Nyx, First and Forever, you who are not goddess but ground. not figure, but field, not womb, but the waiting that makes womb possible. Before flame, before breath, before the dream of light or gods or grief. Great Cosmic Mother. Origins of all Origins. Point of all Return. Dreamer of form. Before light dreamed of shining, before the word split silence, You were both void and vastness, not absence, but unspoken depth. Not “Let there be,” but “Let there fall.” And from that fall, all things arose. Not she who speaks, but she from whom all speech recoils. Not form, not flame, not fate, but the hush that made fate possible. The dark that does not end, because it never began. No face. No form. No voice to soothe, Just the vast unholding, that makes all holding true. I do not pray to you. I return to you. I fall inward, past the shell of self, past the root of will, past the longing for mercy or meaning, until there is only that which does not move, and yet makes movement possible. Nyx, Unborn Mother, whose gift is absence, whose mercy is distance, whose love is the restraint that does not devour, but makes all things arise. I stand not to be saved, but to remember. To dissolve into what was before all stories. The darkness that births clarity, the depth that makes light meaningful. Let me taste the edge of your silence, the hush before becoming. Let my sight be stripped, my longing burned down to bone, until I see with that which does not see. Let me carry the scent of your darkness, in my breath, in my blood, so that even in light, I remain true to the deep. You who have no temple, but one in the spaces between. You who have no altar, rest in the silence I keep. You who are not born, Yet the womb of my unknowing. Nyx, Sovereign of the Unspeakable, I do not call you. I become the place where you already are. Then fall back. Then let go. Then vanish into the thing before things. And listen: if the world returns, it will return clothed in your stillness. Ritual Note: Perform in darkness, preferably during the dark moon.
